FAQ
About the Studio
What makes your products different?
Everything begins in my South East London studio, where each piece is designed, formulated or handcrafted in small batches. Rather than creating large collections, I'm interested in making thoughtful objects that are used often, cared for well, and kept for years.
Whether it's skincare, aromatherapy, jewellery or leatherwork, everything is approached with the same philosophy: working by hand, choosing materials carefully, and creating pieces that encourage a slower, more connected way of living.
Why do you work across different disciplines?
Palm of Feronia isn't centred around one material or discipline, but around a shared approach to making.
Whether I'm formulating skincare, hand-knotting gemstones or working with leather, every collection begins with the same intention: to create thoughtful, well-made objects that are designed to be used, cared for and kept.
While the materials may change, the philosophy remains the same.
Where are your products made?
Everything is designed, formulated or handcrafted by me in my South East London studio. Skincare is produced in small batches in a GMP-compliant space using my own formulations, while jewellery, leather goods and other studio craft pieces are made entirely by hand in the studio.
Why can't I find a product I ordered before?
The collection is always evolving. Occasionally products are retired, reformulated or take a temporary break while ingredients or packaging are updated. If you're looking for something in particular, just get in touch and I'll be happy to let you know whether it's returning.
Are your products vegan?
Yes. All formulated skin and body care products are 100% plant-based. Adorned jewellery is handcrafted using natural gemstones, sterling silver and occasionally pearls. Any pieces containing pearls are clearly noted in the product description.
Are your products cruelty-free?
Yes. None of the products or ingredients are ever tested on animals, and all suppliers are carefully chosen to ensure they are cruelty-free too.
Are your products organic?
Many of the ingredients used are organic, and these are marked with a * in the ingredient lists. Where organic alternatives aren't yet available, I'm always looking for better options.
Adorned Jewellery
How are Adorned necklaces made?
Every Adorned necklace is designed and handmade by me using natural gemstones and sterling silver. Each stone is individually selected and every necklace is hand-knotted on silk, creating a piece that's made to be worn, repaired and treasured for years to come.
How should I care for my jewellery?
To help preserve your piece:
- Avoid pulling or tugging on the necklace or clasp. While securely strung, fine jewellery can weaken or break under repeated tension.
- Remove before any contact with water, including bathing, swimming or the sea, and avoid wearing while exercising or sleeping. Water, sweat and repeated strain can weaken stringing materials over time.
- Store in a dry place, away from humidity and direct sunlight.
- Apply perfume, lotions and skincare before wearing, as products may affect both the silver and gemstones.
- Over time, sterling silver may develop a natural patina, which can be gently polished with a soft polishing cloth.
Will my jewellery look exactly like the photographs?
If a piece is one of a kind, you'll receive the exact piece shown.
Where multiple versions of the same design are available, each necklace follows the same overall design, but natural gemstones vary in colour, pattern and inclusions. These natural variations are part of what makes every piece unique.
Why are some pieces one of a kind?
Many pieces are made using individually selected gemstones or small batches of carefully chosen materials. Rather than reproducing everything exactly, I prefer to embrace the character of each stone, meaning some designs are only ever made once.
How do I choose the right necklace length?
Necklace length is a personal preference and can vary depending on your height, build and how you'd like the piece to sit.
The easiest way to choose is by measuring a necklace you already own and like the fit of, or by placing a piece of string around your neck and adjusting it until it sits where you'd like. Measure the string, then compare it with the lengths listed on the product page.
If you're buying as a gift, or you're unsure which length to choose, please get in touch before ordering and I'll be happy to help.
Can I order a different necklace length?
Many necklaces can be made in an alternative length. If you'd like something shorter or longer than the standard size, please get in touch before ordering and I'll let you know what's possible.
Please note that changing the length may affect the price, depending on the design and materials required.
Do you offer repairs or adjustments?
Yes. Length adjustments, restringing and most repairs can usually be carried out for a small fee.
If your necklace develops a fault within three months of purchase, repairs are complimentary. Beyond this period, or where damage is consistent with general wear, accidental damage, water exposure or repeated tension, repairs are available for a small fee.
If your piece ever needs attention, please get in touch with a photograph and I'll be happy to advise on the best next steps.
Can I order a sold-out Adorned piece?
Occasionally. If a sold-out design has caught your eye, I may be able to create a new piece inspired by the original.
As every necklace is handmade using natural gemstones, it won't be an exact replica and the price may differ to reflect current material costs.
Do you offer custom jewellery?
Yes. If you have a particular colour palette, stone or feeling in mind, I'd be happy to discuss creating something bespoke.
I'll always discuss materials, colours and sizing with you before making begins to ensure you're happy with the final design.
As every custom piece is made especially for you, bespoke commissions are non-refundable unless they arrive damaged or faulty.
Can I wear my jewellery every day?
Absolutely. Adorned necklaces are designed to become part of your everyday wardrobe and can be worn daily. Like all fine jewellery, they'll last longest when treated with care. Removing your necklace before sleeping, swimming, showering or exercising will help preserve both the silk and the natural stones for years to come.
Skincare
Why does my product look different to the last batch?
Natural, seasonal ingredients can vary slightly from harvest to harvest, so you may notice subtle differences in colour, texture or fragrance between batches. This is part of what makes working with natural materials so special. Every product is made using the same formulation and level of care, but if you ever have any concerns, please get in touch.
Are your products suitable for all skin types?
The skincare collection is created with a variety of skin types in mind. If you have specific sensitivities or concerns, please check the individual product information or get in touch for more tailored advice.
If you're new to the collection, I always recommend patch testing before first use.
Can I try your skincare before committing to a full size?
Yes. Sample sizes are available across much of the skincare collection, allowing you to explore the range before purchasing a full-size product.
If you're unsure where to begin, feel free to get in touch and I'll be happy to help you choose.
Do you preserve your products?
Yes. Plant-based preservatives are used to ensure both safety and longevity.
For water-based products, this includes organic acids such as Sodium Levulinate (derived from starch) and Sodium Anisate (derived from anise and fennel). Oil-based products are stabilised with vitamin E from wheatgerm oil.
Which products are suitable during pregnancy or breastfeeding?
Many products contain essential oils, which may not be suitable during pregnancy or while breastfeeding.
The Black Earth Detox Mask, Chaga Mallow Mask, Terra Mari Polish and Rose Quartz Water are all free from essential oils.
If you're unsure about a particular product, please speak with your healthcare professional before use or get in touch and I'll happily advise on the ingredients.
I'm sensitive to essential oils. Can I use your products?
Yes. The Black Earth Detox Mask, Chaga Mallow Mask, Terra Mari Polish and Rose Quartz Water are all free from essential oils.
If you're unsure which products might be best for you, please get in touch and I'll be happy to help.
What is the shelf life of your products?
Each product carries either a PAO (Period After Opening) symbol or a Best Before date.
In most cases, products are best used within 12 months of manufacture. To maximise freshness, store them in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.
Are your products safe?
Yes. Every product undergoes an independent safety assessment by a qualified cosmetic chemist and is produced in a laboratory that complies with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
All products meet current UK cosmetic regulations and, where applicable, European Union cosmetic regulations.
My product has changed colour. Is this normal?
Because the collection is made using botanical ingredients, subtle changes in colour can occur over time. This doesn't necessarily mean a product has deteriorated, particularly if it has been stored correctly and is within its recommended shelf life.
If you're ever unsure whether a product is still suitable to use, please get in touch with a photograph and I'll be happy to advise.
Orders, Shipping & Returns
Can I cancel or change my order?
If your order hasn't yet been dispatched, I'll always do my best to cancel or amend it.
Once an order has been shipped, it will need to follow the standard returns process.
Can I return my order?
If you've changed your mind, you can return most unused items within 14 days of receiving your order. Items must be returned in their original condition and packaging.
Please note that bespoke or custom-made pieces cannot be returned unless they arrive damaged or faulty.
Please get in touch before returning your order so I can provide the correct return instructions.
How long does it take to dispatch my order?
Orders are usually dispatched within 3–4 working days.
If an item is unexpectedly unavailable or there is any delay, I'll let you know by email as soon as possible.

Delivery times vary depending on customs processing and your local postal service, but can take up to four weeks.
If you'd like an express delivery quote, please get in touch before placing your order.
Will I have to pay customs charges or import taxes?
This depends on where your order is being delivered.

All other international destinations
Orders are generally shipped Delivered Duty Unpaid (DDU).
Any import taxes, customs duties or handling fees are determined by your local customs authority and, where applicable, are the responsibility of the recipient.
Why are prices different in my country?
Prices may vary between regions to reflect local taxes, import duties and shipping arrangements.
Customers shopping within the European Union may see different prices to those displayed elsewhere. This reflects the import taxes, customs duties and handling fees that are prepaid before dispatch, allowing your order to arrive without further customs charges on delivery.
What if my order hasn't arrived?
If your order hasn't arrived within the expected delivery timeframe, please get in touch and I'll be happy to investigate with the delivery provider.
Can I send my order as a gift?
Yes. Pricing is never included with orders, and if you'd like to include a handwritten gift message, simply leave a note at checkout.
Do you offer discounts?
New subscribers to the mailing list receive 10% off their first order, along with occasional updates from the studio.
Do you restock sold-out products?
It depends on the collection.
Skincare and everyday essentials are often restocked, although products may occasionally be reformulated or retired as the collection evolves.
Many Adorned jewellery pieces are made in very small batches or as one-of-a-kind designs, so once they're gone they may not return. If there's something you've missed, feel free to get in touch and I'll let you know whether it's likely to be remade.
