A body oil for massage, moisturising or adding to the bath.

Hazelnut, grape seed, camellia, marula, moringa and prickly pear seed oils make a blend that's light enough to use all over, scented with blue cypress, red mandarin, lavender and hinoki, a Japanese cypress. Fresh, woody and slightly sweet. Warm a little between your palms and massage in long strokes towards your heart, smooth onto skin after a shower, or add a splash to a warm, running bath.

Please note
Hinoki Self-Massage Oil now comes with a pump instead of a screw cap. The blend is the same

How to use

Each bottle comes with a small plug to prevent leaks during travel. Remember to remove this before using the oil.

To anoint: Warm the oil between your palms, then gently massage it into the body. Begin at the crown, working the oil into your scalp. Continue to the face, using upward, circular motions, and massage the ears and earlobes. Massage the arms and legs in long, flowing strokes toward the heart. Move to the chest and stomach, using large, clockwise circles. Finally, spend a few moments massaging your feet. For best results, let the oil soak into your skin for 5–15 minutes before enjoying a warm bath or shower. Take care when exiting the bath, and lightly pat your skin dry with a towel.

To moisturise skin: Warm the oil between your palms and gently massage it onto clean, dry skin. Use before or after a bath or shower.

To bathe: Add a small amount of oil to a warm, running bath. After bathing, be careful when stepping out, as surfaces may be slippery. Gently pat your skin dry with a towel. Rinse the bath immediately to prevent residue buildup, and take extra care with enamel tubs.

Each product has a shelf life of at least 12 months when stored properly. Keep it in a cool, dry place away from direct heat or sunlight.

The Pairing

  • For skin that feels tight, dry or a bit dull, especially in the colder months. Some of these contain essential oils, so check the ingredients if your skin doesn't get on with them.

Hands mixing a face mask in a handmade ceramic bowl

I started out making things to help people slow down. These days I’m more interested in what comes after that: making with your hands, being in a room with people, and things you actually use rather than save for best.
