Patina Blue Field Journal – Rose Stitch

A refillable leather journal designed for everyday use. Made using vegetable tanned leather in a Patina Blue tone and finished with a hand-stitched rose in off-white thread.
The stitching introduces a slower layer of making, worked by hand into the leather surface. Each mark sits slightly within the material, softening over time as the leather wears and shifts.
The spiral eyelet detail is a form that appears often in the studio’s work, a quiet reference to movement, return and continuation.
The refillable format allows the journal to be used over time, with inserts replaced as they fill. Each journal holds four pocket-sized lined inserts and is finished with a fixed elastic closure. Additional inserts and optional charms can be added over time.
Handmade in South East London.

A return to making
This piece sits within a wider return to craft for me. Recently, my focus has shifted toward making with hands rather than screens, toward time, material and repetition.
The stitched detail is a continuation of that, adding a slower, more deliberate process to the work.
I’m interested in creating objects that change through use, rather than staying fixed. Pieces that soften, mark and evolve over time.
Truly Handcrafted
Each journal is made slowly by hand in South East London. From cutting the leather to stitching the surface and setting each eyelet, every step is carried out individually.
They are produced in small batches, shaped by the time and care involved in making them. I hope that process carries through into how they are used and lived with over time.
Truly Handcrafted
Each Patina Journal is made slowly by my hands in South East London. From cutting the leather to finishing the final details, every piece is worked on individually rather than produced at scale.
They are made in small batches, shaped by the time and care involved in making them by hand rather than at volume or speed. I truly hope this craft and care brings value to your everyday.
