The Cross Stitch Journal is a fully handmade, refillable leather journal designed to change and shape with use. Made using a soft leather, it’s intended to be written in, carried, marked and kept. Over time, the surface softens, darkens and records the years it’s been a part of your everyday life.

I hand-stitch each design in waxed thread to make your piece truly unique to you. Whilst I can replicate designs, no two will ever be the same. The refillable format allows the journal to be used for years, with inserts replaced as they fill. Each journal holds four A5 inserts as well as an in-built hidden pocket, with space to slot in post-it's or your favourite image. A beautiful, but practical object, designed to bring a little joy to your everyday.

A return to making

This journal sits within a wider return to craft for me. This year, my focus has shifted toward making with hands rather than screens, toward time, material and repetition. I'm interested to create objects that shape slowly through use, rather than designed to stay perfect. The Patina Journal is part of that movement back to the analog.

Caring for your journal

This journal is crafted in leather that is designed to be used rather than protected. Marks and scratches will appear with handling and gradually blend into the surface over time. If the leather looks dry, a small amount of neutral leather balm can be applied with a soft cloth. Avoid water where possible and allow the journal to age naturally through use.

Truly Handcrafted

Each Patina Journal is made slowly by my hands in South East London. From cutting the leather to finishing the final details, every piece is worked on individually rather than produced at scale.

They are made in small batches, shaped by the time and care involved in making them by hand rather than at volume or speed. I truly hope this craft and care brings value to your everyday.
