About this piece

Each ceramic piece is thrown, trimmed, glazed and finished by hand in my London studio. No two are ever exactly alike. Small variations in shape, glaze, texture and finish are an inherent part of the making and firing process, making each piece completely unique.

Care

Hand washing is recommended to help preserve the finish and protect the piece from accidental knocks. While the stoneware is fully vitrified, treating handmade ceramics with a little extra care will help them be enjoyed for many years to come.

A note on handmade ceramics

Every piece is individually made by hand rather than cast or moulded. You may notice subtle irregularities, tiny glaze variations, pinholes or movement in the form. These are not faults, but part of the character of handmade ceramics and a record of the making process.

Handled pieces

The sculptural handles are carefully attached by hand and are strong for everyday use, but they are more delicate than a standard factory-made mug. Please carry and wash them with care, avoid knocks against hard surfaces, and do not lift heavy stacked items by the handle.

Hands mixing a face mask in a handmade ceramic bowl

I started out making things to help people slow down. These days I’m more interested in what comes after that: making with your hands, being in a room with people, and things you actually use rather than save for best.
