A sacred vessel for cleansing rituals.
The abalone shell is a traditional vessel used by Native Americans for burning herbs. Ideal for resting burning bundles, it can also be used with sand or earth to help extinguish them afterward. Loose herbs or broken sage ends can be placed in the shell for burning, with or without sand or earth.
Each shell is uniquely beautiful, featuring a swirling iridescent mother of pearl inner. Approximately 4-6" in size.
Sustainability
We source our abalone shells from South Africa and Mexico, where they are a by-product of the food industry and would otherwise be disposed of. They are not caught in the wild, ensuring that the supply is sustainable and does not harm natural habitats or wild abalone populations.
